Jingle Bell Rock 5k
This past Sunday, Decmeber 9, Santa Cruz Endurance participated in the 5th annual Finish Line Productions Toys for Tots Jingle Bell Rock 5k.
The gist of it is, you pay $25 and bring a toy to donate, or pay $35, and they take $10 to go buy a toy for you. It’s a great cause — and this year they had a fabulous turnout: over 400 runners! That’s 400+ toys! Such a great race, run by fabulous people, and in the wonderful running community of Santa Cruz.
The race started at 9:15am (after the 1k kids run finished), but SCE wasn’t just there as runners — we provided volunteer support as well.
Leslie & Rebecca, two of our lovely volunteers, with Meg & Elise
Our female runners:
Meg & Elise
And our running elf:
Josh, who killed it in full costume!
In costume and out — SCE, thanks in large part to our sponsor Switch, definitely left their mark.
We also had the joy of running with the fabulous Michelle and Margaret (who took 1st and 3rd women OA, respectively) of SCTC, and being captured on film by SCE member Laura, who’s daughter Agnes also came out as volunteer support.

The race was fun, quick (and surprisingly hot for December), and Josh took 3rd male OA, Meg took 4th in her age group & 9th woman OA, and Elise took 2nd in her AG and 10th woman OA.

Definitely a fun day, filled with fast running, the best support runners could ask for and lots of toys for tots!

Nice job. I’m imPRESSed.
